Ex-Congresswoman Dahlkemper seeks Erie County post

ERIE — Former Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper is running in the May primary against Democrat incumbent Erie County Executive Barry Grossman.
Dahlkemper, who represented Butler County for two years in the 3rd Congressional District, announced her bid this moring.
Dahlkemper said that Grossman and other regional leaders have not “shown enough vision” on topics including economic development and keeping younger people from moving out of the state’s most northwestern county.
Dahlkemper was elected to Congress in 2008, but lost to Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly of Butler in 2010.
Grossman is seeking a second four-year term as executive and says Dahlkemper’s announcement now gives voters a choice in the primary.
Two Republicans are also running for that party’s nomination.
