Fire destroys house this morning

FORWARD TWP — A fast-moving fire destroyed a house this morning on rural Horseshoe Lane.
Neighbors watched from a distance as the single story house went up in flames. Smoke billowed from the structure as firefighters worked to distinguish the flames, which shot out from all sides of the structure.
The fire was reported just before 10 a.m.
Neighbors Dave Burkle and Cathy Lee identified the homeowner as Craig Martin, who they said is in his early 30s.
Lee said she called Martin, who was working a construction job in Beaver County, to tell him the house was on fire. She said he has lived there for almost a decade.
It’s not immediately clear what sparked the fire. Firefighters on the scene declined any comment.
Burkle said a dog that lives with Martin was not there at the time of the fire.
Fire crews from Connoquenessing Valley, Evans City, Harmony and Zelienople responded to the fire.
