Suspect facing theft charges

EVANS CITY — A Beaver County man faces possible trial on charges he stole a television, computer and other items from his then new girlfriend’s home in Lancaster Township. David E. Bristol 28, of Beaver Falls on Tuesday waived his preliminary hearing in Evans City and will be arraigned in Butler County Court next month. Bristol is charged with trespass, and eight counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. He is being held in the Beaver County Jail on unrelated theft charges in New Brighton. Lancaster Township police allege Bristol on Feb. 9 entered Heather Dipietro’s home on Fawn Lane without her permission. He made off with a flat-screen TV, computer and printer, two video game systems and eight video games, a digital camera, electric fireplace and a bank containing $40, court documents said. Dipietro reported the theft Feb. 14. She immediately suspected the defendant, who she had been dating for about a week at the time of the alleged crime, police said. Some of that stolen property later turned up in Beaver County, at Bristol’s home and at another home in Koppel where he was staying, New Brighton police said. New Brighton police on Feb. 14 arrested Bristol on their own theft-related charges. He is accused of stealing a computer from a home and using a stolen bank debit card to make several purchases. He is in the Beaver County Jail on $10,000 bail while awaiting a preliminary hearing this week on those charges.
