IDs for bomb threats

The recent bomb threat at Mars High School wasted the time of police, firefighters and emergency medical services, not to mention the disruption that it caused at the school.

It’s time to put in the newspaper the names of the people who make such threats, so we know who they are.

Plus, there should be an automatic, mandatory five-year prison sentence, with no parole, no pleas and no excuses of being misguided, confused, or a victim of a poor childhood.

If someone does the big-boy crime, he or she should do the big-boy time.

By the time such a person gets out of prison — in some cases, at 19 or 20 years old — perhaps he or she will have gotten the message.
