Mars High School students Chris Blahnik, Michaela Valenta, Shyniah Watson and Brittany Gaunt have been selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Western Regional Orchestra Festival Feb. 21 to 23 at Hollidaysburg High School.

ADAMS TWP — Four members of Mars High School Orchestra were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Western Regional Orchestra Festival, to be held Feb. 21 to 23 at Hollidaysburg High School.
Students are seniors Chris Blahnik (cello); and juniors Michaela Valenta (cello), Shyniah Watson (string bass) and Brittany Gaunt (flute). John Fetter, Eastman School of Music assistant professor of music education, will serve as guest conductor.
The festival program will feature “Hymn & Fuguing” by Henry Cowell, “Sigurd Jorsalfar Opus 56 Suite” by Edvard Grieg and selections from the movie “Far & Away.”
