ID of skeletal remains to be released later

CRANBERRY TWP — Township police said Monday it likely will be weeks before they publicly release the identity of the skeletal remains found Saturday.
Cranberry Police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said the department is waiting for a forensic team from Mercyhurst College to conclude its investigation.
Mascellino said earlier in the day that police had found a wallet next to the remains near UPMC Passavant Cranberry along Dutilh Road.
The dead man’s driver’s license was found in the wallet.
He also said the department was working Monday to notify next of kin of the dead man.
