Film shows gun need

February 16, 2013 Letters to the Editor

Since the tragic events in December at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Butler Eagle readers have had to endure a virtual tug-of-war between pro- and anti-gun factions.

We have been inundated with the ramblings of self-proclaimed constitutional scholars. One writer at length interpreted the “well-regulated militia” phrase, while another has determined that we have no right to a home arsenal.

Let me boil all the arguments down to why we have a Second Amendment. I saw a movie — “Schindler’s List” — a few years ago where the only one who had guns was the government.

Enough said.
