Metcalfe conduct bad
Oren M. Spiegler Upper Saint Clair
It is unfortunate that state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th, did not recognize that there was another guest on the Pennsylvania Cable Network evening call-in program on which he appeared on Feb. 12. That program was a disaster because of Metcalfe’s lack of manners and insistence that his opponent not be able to say anything. Metcalfe, carried away by his gun fanaticism, would assert that the Second Amendment is like no other, that there are no limitations or restrictions that may be imposed, and that the right to own an arsenal of weapons “shall not be questioned.” He made the ludicrous assertion that the program’s other guest and President Barack Obama are “coming for our guns.” Metcalfe’s supporters called the program, unaffected by his lack of courtesy, but they do not constitute the majority of the public. I am mortified to identify as a Republican after watching this travesty. I felt sorry not only for the other guest, but for the program host who had to tolerate Metcalfe’s attacks and boorish behavior. What a putrid example for students of government and impressionable children.
