Sunnyview’s 2012 deficit tops $800,000

BUTLER TWP — The Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center had an $808,650 deficit for last year, according to the preliminary 2012 expense report.
Bill Kepple, Sunnyview fiscal director, said at the board meeting this morning that only minor expenses for the end of the year have yet to be tallied.
“We’re not completely closed yet,” he said. “These numbers may change a little bit.”
The Butler County-owned nursing home was budgeted to lose $546,599, an amount that is $262,052 lower than the actual number.
Kepple said factors such as reductions in state and federal funding affected Sunnyview’s bottom line.
Of the total $808,650 deficit, $279,931 is an operational loss. Of the remaining $528,719 in losses, $206,664 is due to building depreciation.
Another $308,074 is for indirect costs assessed by the county for such items as portions of government center staff salaries, including the county solicitor and the personnel department.
