ADAMS TWP — Mars senior Emily Thomas is a finalist in the Photographer’s Forum 33rd annual College & High School Photography Contest.

Emily’s photograph of her sister jumping, “Go,” was selected from more than 16,000 entries from the United States, Canada and across the globe. As a finalist, her work will be included in the hardcover book, “Best of College & High School Photography.”

Emily, 17, daughter of Kenneth and Christine Thomas of Gibsonia, also has several photos featured in the 2013 Pittsburgh Arts Region Scholastic Art & Writing Awards to be held Feb. 8 to 24 at La Roche College’s Student Union Center and Cantellops Gallery.

Thomas has apprenticed at G&G Studio Creations in Mars. During her junior year at Mars High School, Emily completed “Introduction to Digital Photography,” an elective course open to students in grades 10 to 12.
