Apartments OK’d at Cranberry office park

CRANBERRY TWP — One of the last remaining large land development tracts in Cranberry Woods office park will become home to a new residential apartment community.

Supervisors Thursday approved plans for the Cranberry Woods Apartments that will include a mix of 302 apartments, townhomes and some small business/apartment units.

The 17-acre complex will be near the McKesson Automation building in the Route 228 office park. The project is being developed by Trammell Crow Company, which hopes to The project will allow employees to live where they work.

The apartment buildings, which will be one- and two- bedroom units, include parking garages. In addition, there will be some three-bedroom townhomes and two live-work units.

There would be a central park area that will include a swimming pool and will be connected to the walking trail system throughout Cranberry Woods.

In other township news, supervisors approved a $1.3 million contract with Thomas Construction to build a new 24-inch main water transmission line to its West View Water Authority supply line to keep up with growth demands.

The township is already in the middle of a major sewage line upgrade and is doing a study of its sewage treatment plans to assess its needs for future growth.
