Gas odor causes Concordia to shift residents

JEFFERSON TWP — More than 20 residents at Concordia Lutheran Ministries rehabilitation unit were temporarily moved into another part of the building on Marwood Road at 12:39 a.m. today due a gas odor.
Chief Chris Ballina of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company said the smell was traced to a bad furnace blower in the heating system.
He said the building remained heated while maintenance corrected the problem. The Winfield Township Volunteer Fire Company and Butler Ambulance assisted Saxonburg.
Crews cleared Concordia in 90 minutes.
