The bride-to-be is the daughter of James Franek of Butler and Marilyn Gust of Christiansburg, Va. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Barry and Karen Porter of Fenelton.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Butler High School, a 2008 graduate of Saint Vincent College and a 2012 graduate of Duquesne Univeristy with her doctorate.
She is employed by Fluvanna County Public Schools in Palmyra, Va.
Her fiancé graduated in 2004 from Butler High School in 2008 from Saint Vincent College and in 2011 from Villanova University with his masters.
He is employed by Talisman Energy in Cranberry Township.
