Cavanaugh-Johnston, Vensel

Colin and Matthew Vensel

Colin Cavanaugh-Johnston and Matthew Vensel, both of Baltimore, were united in marriage Dec. 29 at Portland Regency Inn in Portland, Maine. Robert Grant officiated. A reception followed at the Portland Regency Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia Cavanaugh and Robert Grant of Brunswick, Maine, and Ronald Johnston and Jennifer Gosselin of Bedford, N.H. Parents of the bridegroom are Marjorie Watterson and Dennis Filges of Chicora and John and Deborah Vensel of Butler.

The honor attendant was Elizabeth Rattey of Brunswick. Bridesmaids included Kimberly Spencer of Houston, Texas, Amanda Matznick of Brunswick and Kelly Dias and Amy Johnston, both of Brattleborough, Vt.

The flower girl was Natalie Ney of Brunswick.

Performing the duties of best man was Andrew Willment of Boston. Ushers included Andre Gargbedian of Marlton, N.J., David Heichel of Pittsburgh and Matthew Finck and Benjamin Pillow, both of Baltimore.

The ring bearer was Draven Jacobson of Butler.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Brunswick High School, a 2008 graduate of Roger Williams University and a 2012 graduate of Walden University.

She is employed by SAGE Dining Services in Baltimore.

The bridegroom graduated from Butler High School in 2000, Penn State University in 2005 and Towson University in 2008.

He is a sportswriter for the Baltimore Sun.

Following a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple is making their home in Baltimore.
