Well, here we go again. The Butler County commissioners want to build a new building — this time an office building on the site of the former county prison.

I think the taxpayers should be given the chance to vote on whether a new building should be built. Prior to that vote, there should be a town meeting for showing blueprints to the public, as well as for providing the game plan for paying for the building. The commissioners said no tax increase would be needed, but the commissioners approved a 1-mill tax hike to help fund the county’s 2013 budget.

The commissioners should quit blaming Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the need to raise the real estate tax. This “county home” was designated as nonprofit when the land was obtained and the home was built.

Where is the tax revenue going that is being obtained as a result of growth in the Cranberry area?

We need an entirely new board of commissioners. In those three commissioner positions we need young working people who have a knowledge of construction, business and high finance — people like large corporations have, not retired people who are not in the real world any more.

There should be at least five to 10 building plans, not just the attitude to build something.

The Government Center was not big enough when it was designed and constructed.

I think the three commissioners should resign, to allow the voters to elect new commissioners. I think everyone is tired of the way the current commissioners act at their meetings.

They will never work together. Since they can’t, taxpayers should demand that their pay be cut.

The blame must not be placed on others. The commissioners must fix the problems that we now have, not create more.
