CRANBERRY TWP — Police are investigating after bullets struck two homes on New Year’s Eve.

Cranberry Township Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said the incident was likely a result of someone firing a gun in a celebratory fashion to welcome in the new year.

No one reported any injuries to police after the incident, which occurred in the Fernway neighborhood of Cranberry.

“The time of the call was a few minutes after midnight, so obviously it was the result of a party occurring,” Mascellino said. “But it’s still under investigation.”

Mascellino said the shots came from a home on Robin Hood Drive and struck houses on Sherwood Drive and Lincolnshire Drive, respectively.

The sergeant also said police have contacted people who attended the party.

He said no charges have yet been filed.
