ADAMS TWP — Mars High School's Creative Writing Club published its inaugural issue of Inks by Anonymous, a literary magazine featuring short stories, poetry, artwork and more.
The Creative Writing Club sets editorial and publication deadlines for each issue and welcomes any student at Mars High School to submit items for inclusion in the magazine. Students can sign their works or they have the option of using a pen name or remaining anonymous.
By remaining anonymous, students can share their creativity without having to worry about the everyday pressures of high school and what others think.
The Creative Writing Club, which has 36 active members, meets in school and after school to join in writing exercises that encourage creativity. In one activity, members begin with a place (such as a train station) and develop characters, motivations and plot lines centered around that location.
The next issue of Inks by Anonymous is planned for mid-January and Creative Writing Club plans to print more editions before the end of the school year. The magazine will then be published quarterly in future years.
