Butler County President Judge Thomas Doerr is expected to decide later today whether to rescind his order to have a deputy stationed in the county commissioners’ office on the fifth floor of the government center.
During a meeting this morning between Doerr and the commissioners, the judge said his Nov. 19 order was in response to Eckstein’s conduct.
Doerr said verbal conflicts between Eckstein and others could result in a physical confrontation.
Eckstein said there was no reason to issue the order because he has no criminal record and he does not own any weapons.
Doerr said there could be some intermediary step of added security instead of a deputy being assigned to stay in the commissioners’ office.
