HARMONY — Council passed a balanced budget Tuesday night that holds the line on taxes.
President Jim Hulings said the property tax rate will remain at 11 mills with an additional 1.125 mills for fire services.
Council approved the $540,000 spending plan at a meeting Tuesday night.
“We didn’t have to raise taxes, which was one of the best things,” Hulings said. “Beyond that the budget is nothing spectacular.”
Hulings said the small borough doesn’t have a deep surplus of funds but that council will be able to take care of the infrastructure projects that come up during the year.
“We’ve trimmed back everything we can trim back, as far as we can trim it,” he said.
