ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople-Harmony Salvation Army is making plans for the Christmas holiday season.
The first item on the agenda is the annual Kettle Drive to raise money for next year’s budget.
Louise and Jerry Burr invite volunteers to help “Ring the Bell” at Bi-Lo in Northgate Plaza or Shop ‘n Save in Zelienople. Anyone interested should contact the Burrs at 724-452-6637.
Those willing to volunteer time for this effort can contact the Burrs to schedule a day and time to ring. Churches, school groups, families, individuals and clubs are needed to make this drive a success.
The second item is Christmas assistance.
This assistance is offered to families in need of help. They are invited to call Lloyd Hall at 724-452-5571.
The deadline to apply is Dec. 10.
The Treasures for Christmas Trees are at four locations: Freedom United Credit Union: NexTier Bank, ESB Bank and Shop ‘n Save in Zelienople.
Donors are invited to stop in and choose a name from the tree, buy the suggested gift and return it by Dec. 6.
The gift should be placed in a Christmas bag, covered with tissue paper. The name tag should be placed in the bag. Participants are asked not to wrap or use staples on the gifts.
