Philadelphia in path of winter storm
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia is under a winter storm warning today as an approaching nor’easter is expected to bring snowy weather to the area a week after Superstorm Sandy passed through.
The National Weather Service says total accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are possible today and into Thursday morning. Heavy snow is possible this afternoon and evening as temperatures drop.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for areas north and west of the city, with 1 to 4 inches possible.
The storm is also expected to have 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph.
