Man injured in car, truck crash today

PENN TWP — One person was hurt this morning when a car and dump truck collided on Route 8, authorities said.
The crash happened about 5:40 a.m. as both vehicles were traveling south on the road’s McBride Hill section.
The driver of the car, a man whose name was not available, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, said Ray Glace, assistant chief with the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The car, which had minor damage on its driver’s door, was off the road but the truck was gone when firefighters got there, Glace said.
Township police did not immediately release an accident report, and the investigating officer could not be reached.
