Nearly 3 inches of rain fell since Monday

Almost three quarters of Butler County’s October rainfall occurred in the past three days, but the month still wasn’t as wet as October 2011, according to the National Weather Service.
Of the 4.05 inches of rain in October, 2.71 inches fell on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, coming from Superstorm Sandy.
Monday was the soggiest of 16 days with precipitation with 1.72 inches of rain.
In October 2011, rain fell on 12 days and added up to 4.40 inches for the month.
The National Weather Service issued rain and snow and wind figures for the recent storm that swept across the state.
As of 11 a.m. Wednesday Hanover had gotten the most rain, with 8.15 inches. Schellsburg, in the central part of the state, was next at 7.94 inches.
Champion, in the southwestern highlands, got 13 inches of snow, while nearby Laurel Summit got 10 inches.
