Every week, The Cranberry Eagle will spotlight a local educator, providing a glimpse into what makes them tick.

QUESTION: Why did you become a teacher?
ANSWER: I felt blessed to have outstanding teachers in my life and I know what a positive impact they had on me. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others too.
QUESTION: What is one sentence that sums up what you believe is the key to teaching?
ANSWER: I believe the key to teaching is forming a true bond with your students and trying to make each day exciting, challenging and rewarding.
QUESTION: When you’re not teaching, you most likely can be found doing what?
ANSWER: When I am not teaching I can usually be found spending time with my family. We love swimming, taking bike rides, playing games and curling up together to read. My husband and I enjoy watching our girls with their activities, too. Haylie is a dancer and Gracie plays soccer.
QUESTION: What is one thing about you that likely would surprise your students?
ANSWER: This summer my family and I took our first cruise. The most exciting part of our trip was getting to swim with the dolphins! (I even got kissed by one!)
