Man charged in bicyclist throat slashing

PITTSBURGH — Police have arrested a man for allegedly slashing the throat of a Pittsburgh bicyclist in an attack last month.
Authorities say 21-year-old Anthony Scholl of West Mifflin was charged Thursday. He was already in jail for allegedly lighting his parents’ house on fire earlier this month.
In the slashing incident, police say 25-year-old Colin Albright was riding his bicycle home from work on the evening of Sept. 5 when another man approached him from behind and then stabbed him in the neck, arm, and head, and then slashed his throat.
Albright, who is recovering, previously said his attacker didn’t say anything to him.
It’s not clear who represents Scholl over the slashing charges. Pittsburgh attorney Daniel P. Joyce says Scholl is pleading not guilty to the arson charges.
