Commissioners OK contract for building addition drawings

The county commissioners on Wednesday approved a contract with the Butler division of Stantec to design a new office building next to the government center.
The contract will amount to 3.8 percent of building construction costs, or $380,000 if the $10 million construction estimate becomes the actual number.
Commissioners Bill McCarrier and Dale Pinkerton approved the expense while Commissioner Jim Eckstein dissented.
Eckstein prefers buying a building over constructing one.
