Middle class ignored

Mike Kelly represents Butler County as part of Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District. This county has a median household income of $42,308.

Kelly has done — and is doing — nothing for the middle class.

Kelly has worked hard for free trade with Korea. That does nothing for the middle class, but it helps Kelly, who sells Korean cars.

Kelly as a congressman was asked in Mercer County what he would do for the people of that county. His answer was “nothing,” and he went on to explain that it was not the role of the federal government to assist people.

Kelly signed the Grover Norquist Pledge, which commits a member of Congress to oppose and vote against any effort to raise the federal income tax on individuals or corporations.

Kelly voted for the Ryan budget plan that would gut Medicare and replace it with a voucher system.

Kelly voted against the health care reform law symbolically after it already had been passed, wasting $33 million to make a point.

Kelly and fellow Republicans stonewalled raising the debt ceiling, causing America’s credit rating to be downgraded for the first time in history.

Kelly is one of the worst legislators in the worst Congress since 1947,when it was called the “do-nothing Congress.”
