Several months ago, more than a dozen Center Township residents circulated a petition to place the referendum question “Should Center Township return to a three-member board of supervisors?” on the township’s Nov. 6 ballot.

A total of 277 signatures of Center voters were required to place the referendum on the ballot. More than 535 township voters signed the petition.

On Sept. 12, the Butler County commissioners voted to approve the ballot referendum, paving the way for the question to appear on the Nov. 6 township ballot.

I wish to express appreciation to all of the township residents who circulated the petition. It was no easy task to collect 535 signatures.
