Stances questioned

One political party says that government is getting too big and overstepping its boundaries — that it is encroaching on the everyday lives of its citizens.
Yet that same party is adamant about enforcing a law regarding unborn life, which is a very private, personal and individual matter and none of the government’s business.
Does this party really believe it has a monopoly on what is right?
Is this the very same party that objects to government ruling on gun control?
