Westmoreland County college re-opens day after threat
YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Westmoreland County Community College has reopened a day after receiving threatening phone calls.
College officials confirmed the school had reopened today.
State police from nearby Greensburg continue to investigate, but have referred questions to the school based in Youngwood.
County emergency officials say the caller had threatened to release an explosive nerve chemical unless some kind of ransom was paid by 4 p.m. Monday. No injuries or dangerous incidents have been reported.
The school has eight satellite locations in three other southwestern Pennsylvania counties, Greene, Fayette and Indiana.
