Suspect sought in robbery in city



Police are seeking a Butler Township man suspected of robbing another man late Friday night in Butler.
Alfred L. Irvin, 31, is wanted on a charge of robbery, Butler police said.
The suspected victim, 31-year-old Walter S. Kradel of West Sunbury, told police that he was robbed shortly after he asked Irvin for a ride home about 11:30 p.m.
Kradel said he got into Irvin’s sport utility vehicle near a convenience store on West Jefferson Street. While traveling on Fifth Avenue, the suspect placed a handgun on his lap, according to a police report.
Irvin allegedly demanded Kradel’s money. He handed over $70 before getting out the of the vehicle unharmed.
He said the suspect drove away down an alley at or near Third Avenue.
Police noted that Kradel later came to the station and provided a written statement about the incident.
