Grove City teen bicyclist killed in crash

GROVE CITY — Borough police are investigating an accident where a teenager riding a bicycle was killed Friday morning.
The head-on collision, which happened at 11:16 a.m. at the intersection of North Broad Street and Chestnut Street, involved a pickup truck driven by a 46-year-old Grove City-area man and a bicycle ridden by Justin Griffin, 15, of Grove City.
Superior Ambulance took Griffin to the Grove City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m. Mercer County Coroner J. Bradley McGonigle III said Saturday morning that the boy died of blunt force trauma.
The streets were closed for about two hours while investigators cleared the scene, said Jeff Badger, Grove City Volunteer Fire Department chief.
Police would not release any further information as of Saturday morning.
