Downed pole, wires causes outage



BUTLER TWP — A crash in the township has knocked down electrical wires and caused a power outage.
A pickup truck hit a pole at the intersection of Bullcreek and Saxonburg roads around 7:30 a.m. The crash knocked the pole and wires down on Saxonburg Road. Police have closed the intersection.
The driver was not injured in the crash. The wires started a small brush fire, which has been extinguished.
Butler Township Police and the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department have responded to the accident.
West Penn Power is reporting that 755 customers in Butler, Jefferson, Penn and Summit townships are affected by the outage.
