1:10 a.m. Monday — A car driven by James Longo, 24, of Butler struck a mailbox and garbage can before traveling down an embankment in the 400 block of New Castle Road.8:59 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt when a pickup truck driven by Andrew Babay III, 42, of Renfrew rear-ended a minivan on South Duffy Road at Route 356. Robert Higgins, 37, was driving the van.A passenger in the van, who police did not identify, suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Police cited Babay for driving at an unsafe speed.12:41 a.m. Sunday — Brittany Kies, 21, of Prospect suffered minor cuts to the head when a car she was driving collided with another vehicle at North Main Street and Fairfield Lane. Police said Kies, whose head hit the windshield of her car, was cited for failing to yield the right of way. Trevor Herr, 25, of Freeport was the other driver.3:13 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Carol Caum, 69, of Butler rear-ended a vehicle stopped for traffic on the Route 422 Lyndora exit. Police cited Caum for careless driving. John O'Connor, 69, of Butler was the other driver.

Thursday — Police charged Teresa J. Flatt, 51, of Center Township with theft and illegal drug possession after she allegedly stole dozens of prescription painkillers while working as a pharmacy technician at the Rite Aid in the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Flatt was caught on store surveillance video, according to court documents, taking 74 oxycodone pills from the front area of the pharmacy between May 9 and 11.She is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and possession of a controlled substance.May 14 — John Roy Barlow Jr., 43, of Grove City was jailed more than a week after he jumped out of his car and ran into woods to avoid a driving under the influence arrest in Slippery Rock Township.Police said they stopped Barlow about 8:40 p.m. May 6 at Route 8 and Stamm Road but he immediately ran away. In addition to DUI, he faces felony charges of escape and flight to avoid apprehension or prosecution.Also, he is charged with resisting arrest, being a habitual offender for driving with a suspended license, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, driving with a suspended license, driving with no rear lights, abandoning a vehicle on the road, careless driving, reckless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, driving a vehicle without insurance and without valid inspection, and an open container violation.

7:51 p.m. Saturday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Bradys Bend Township. The crash happened when a pickup truck driven by James R. Brewer, 21, of Chicora rear-ended a car on Route 68 just east of Poncic Road.The driver of the car, Gina L. Andreassi, 41, of Pittsburgh, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH in Kittanning with unknown injuries. Police said Brewer was cited for careless driving.2:15 p.m. May 12 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Michael R. Windows, 35, of Freeport struck a deer on Route 128 just north of Duck Hollow Road in South Buffalo Township.
