Thursday — Chad W. Guta, 37, of Butler is accused of stealing more than $600 from his girlfriend and her mother at the couple's home on Eau Claire Street. He also allegedly took a car owned by his girlfriend's aunt without the woman's permission.Police charged Guta with theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Friday — A thief stole a Garmin global positioning system device, two 7-inch folding knives and about $10 in change from a Zelienople woman's sport utility vehicle in the parking lot at Davevic Benefit Consultants on South Center Street. The theft happened between 9:30 a.m. 6 p.m.Harrisville Police12:40 a.m. Saturday —Grant E. Young, no age given, of Center Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding in the borough.
7:10 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Haleigh N. Smith, 22, of Butler crashed into a utility pole and a split-rail fence along Sunset Drive in Center Township. Stoughton’s Golf Course owns the fence. Smith was cited for driving too fast for conditions.6:18 a.m. Monday — One person was hurt when a pickup truck driven by Eric J. Scarborough, 40, of Mars and a sport utility vehicle driven by James F. Domhoff, 48, of Butler collided at Route 68 and Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township.Domhoff, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Scarborough was cited for running a red light.Monday — A thief stole the tailgate from a green, 2001 Dodge Ram at a home on Maye Road in West Liberty. The tailgate, worth about $500, was taken between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.2:50 a.m. Monday — An 18-year-old man allegedly destroyed a mailbox on Anderson Road in Penn Township. The suspect, Jake Lamon of Saxonburg, was cited for criminal mischief.Feb. 12 — An unknown burglar ransacked a woman’s bedroom at a home on Woodbridge Drive in Slippery Rock Township. Nothing was taken in the break-in between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and 2 a.m. Feb. 12.4:24 a.m. Feb. 11 — Daniel A. Hartzell, 24, of Cabot was hurt when the SUV he was driving struck a utility pole along Route 68 just south of Bellview Avenue in Chicora. Hartzell, who was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
