Company to expand in Adams Township

ADAMS TWP — A German company has chose southern Butler County over places in India and China to build a $3.5 million plant that will eventually employee more than 20 high-skilled workers.

That decision was announced Monday.

IMS Systems Inc., headquartered in Heiligenhaus, Germany, specializes in manufacturing gauges and measurement systems used in the steel, aluminum and metal industries.

The company’s products measure the length, width and thickness of steel and other metals.

John Buckman, general manager and vice president of the office in the township, said he’s thrilled at the opportunity to bring new jobs to the area. IMS Systems already has about 15 employees here now.

The new plant, he said, will be 9,500 square feet and will be off Route 228 on Myoma Road.
