11:51 a.m. Wednesday — Anthony Lee Harris, 20, of Butler was arrested on felony and other drug charges after authorities found six bags of suspected marijuana at his home in the 300 block of Howard Street.The suspected drugs, according to a police report, were found during a visit by Harris' probation officers. The alleged marijuana weighed more than 8 grams.Harris was arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He is in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.Tuesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a car parked on Cherry Street and did not stop. The car, owned by a woman from Ford City, Armstrong County, sustained damage to its rear passenger side. The hit-and-run crash happened between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Wednesday — Police charged a man and woman and a girl with teaming up to shoplift at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons about 2:15 p.m. Jan. 15.The suspects William E. Lunn Jr., 35, and Christy Raith, 30, both of Slippery Rock, are charged with retail theft, conspiracy to commit retail theft and receiving stolen property. The girl, who police did not identify, face the same charges in juvenile court.Lunn and Raith are also charged with corruption of minors. Additionally, Lunn is charged with possessing instruments of crime.
5:04 p.m. Tuesday — Darl Morrison, 75, of Worthington was hurt when a car hit him on Bear Street just north of Meadow Street in West Franklin Township.Morrison was thrown about 25 feet and landed on the berm. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with unknown injuries. His condition was not known this morningPolice said Morrison was trying to cross Bear Street when a 2002 Mazda Protege hit him. The driver, Taylor J. Musser, 19 of Avonmore, Westmoreland County, told police he was unable to avoid hitting the man.Musser was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, according to a police report. Morrison was issued a warning for not using a crosswalk.
Wednesday — A handgun and ring were reported stolen from a home on Ellwood Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft happened between Jan. 3 and Wednesday.
