Worried about cuts

I am a student at Butler Junior High School, and I am concerned about the budget cuts in the Butler School District.
I have many wonderful teachers now; I also had many wonderful teachers during my elementary school years at Meridian.
These people really care about their students. They spend their own money on supplies and on clothes and shoes for kids who need them. They also are working for free in their spare time in order to keep programs that help kids from being cut.
In the junior high, our phones don’t work well, the computers are older than I am, and we won’t be getting new books for a long time.
I am worried that my friends and I won’t be able to compete with students from other school districts who have more.
It might be harder for us to get into college or get jobs.
I read a newspaper article that said Pennsylvania spends more on its prisoners in jail than on its students. That should worry everyone.
I will be sending this letter to Gov. Tom Corbett, asking him to stop making cuts in our school funding.
I hope others also will write letters to our leaders in government.
Those who might not be sure how to start should look at EducationVotersPA.org.
