The Institute for Learning in Retirement at Slippery Rock University is planning a public trip to Gettysburg on Sept. 8 and 9.

MARS — Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., will hold a flea market starting at 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For information, call 724-625-1365.

HARMONY — The Harmony Museum's annual herb and garden fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the historical society's barn at 303 Mercer Road.Gardeners may trade potted plants. There will be vendors and a flea market.Donors and exchangers bringing plants to the fair receive vouchers for other plants.

The Butler County Historical Society will host its third annual wine and cheese event at 5:30 p.m. June 17 at Pullman Park.The program will be presented by Sean Gibson, great-grandson of baseball great Josh Gibson. Gibson was one of the greatest players in Negro League history, leading in home runs for 10 consecutive years.
