Man badly burned in Route 228 crash last week still in critical condition
PITTSBURGH — A man involved in a fiery crash on Route 228 in Adams Township last week remains in critical condition at UPMC Mercy Hospital.
Michael Rupert, 42, suffered burns to about 90 percent of his body when his truck caught fire after the accident, according to police.
Police also said Rupert most likely would have died on the scene if three men hadn't pulled him from his truck and used a fire extinguisher to contain the burns.
