Fire destroys house in Butler Township



BUTLER TWP — A Thursday afternoon fire destroyed a one-story house at the corner of Whitestown Road and Young Avenue.
The fire at 304 Young Ave. was reported at 2:48 p.m. Firefighters from the Lyndora, South Butler, Mercer Road Meridian and Greenwood Village volunteer fire departments brought it under control in about 20 minutes.
Emergency crews remained on the scene for some time, extinguishing hot spots in the building, which was a mobile home with add-ons.
No injuries were reported.
More than 40 firefighters responded, assisted by state troopers, Butler Township police, and Butler Ambulance.
No cause for the fire has been determined, and no damage estimate is available.
Whitestown Road was closed between Acre and Home avenues while emergency personnel worked at the scene.
