12:39 p.m. Wednesday — Ernest Dodson, 62, of Butler Township was arrested for driving under the influence after a suspected hit-and-run crash at Pittsburgh Road and Pittsburgh Pike.Police said Dodson did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a minivan driven by Brad L. Claypoole, 31, of Butler.Dodson is accused of driving away after the crash. Witnesses were able to provide police with the car's license plate number. Police found Dodson a short time later. His blood-alcohol count was 0.169 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Dodson is charged with DUI, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and a stop sign violation.
Thursday — Police filed felony theft and other charges against Jeffrey Miles, 41, of New Castle after he allegedly used a stolen bank debit card Nov. 4 to buy several items at the GetGo store in Bon Aire.The card's owner, police said, had his wallet stolen from the Comfort Inn on Route 8 South just before the card was used.Miles is charged with identity theft, two counts of access device fraud, as well as a pair of traffic violations.Wednesday — A red, 2000 Polaris Scrambler all-terrain vehicle was stolen overnight from a home in the 200 block of North Boundary Street. The ATV has a black plow on the front and black metal cargo racks on the front and back.5:44 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by George Alessandria, 40, of Pittsburgh and a minivan driven by Harold Bolten, 82, of Butler collided at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Alessandria suffered minor injuries.4:25 a.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Verna Richards, 57, of Harrisville and Chad VanDyke, 30, of East Brady, Clarion County collided at Benbrook and Evans City roads.Tuesday — Dacia Walker, 20, of Prospect was cited for trespassing after she went into the Wal-Mart store in Butler Commons on Nov. 6. Walker was previously arrested for shoplifting at the store.
1:34 p.m. Thursday — A long gun in a hard case was found on Schnur Road in Summit Township. The owner can claim the property at the barracks in Butler Township.Tuesday — Police accused Mary Elizabeth Palm, 29, of Portersville of supplying a 16-year-old boy with beer Nov. 6 at a Muddy Creek Township apartment. Palm is charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor. Police cited the boy for underage drinking.10:16 a.m. Saturday — Craig J. Cushing, 39, of Cranberry Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County.Nov. 5 — An unknown thief stole $100 from a Pittsburgh man's unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Cherry Road in Clinton Township.
6:30 a.m. Wednesday — Pickup trucks driven by Michael S. Waldroup, 41, of Rimersburg and Rodney Pifer Jr., 40, of Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, collided on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township.4:06 p.m. Sunday — An Ohio man was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Route 68 near Buttercup Road in Bradys Bend Township. Robert Valot Jr., 64, of Warren, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Police said he suffered a broken collarbone.
