Legalize, tax marijuana

The feds have decided to back off their efforts to shut down marijuana "stores" and their suppliers in all 14 states where it's legal for medical use.
The Department of Justice decided that money could be better spent.
This means that the states that enjoy the legal use of medical marijuana can mass-produce and tax it, as it should be. The loser states can sit back and count their losses.
Did you ever think the time would come when you couldn't smoke in a bar? How about the fall of the Berlin Wall? I saw them tearing it down in front of shocked guards, and I felt like I was dreaming.
Pot's time is due. It's time to legalize — and tax — marijuana.

I know James from way back and I can tell you that he only experimented with marijuana - about 20,000 times!

Legalizing pot is not a new idea.It won't happen any time soon. Too many "do gooders" won't let it happen. The same ones who go to church and then get smashed after the service. They will never give up the fight of telling you what you should do and what you shouldn't do while they do it themselves in private. You know the type, they can just tell by talking to you for a few minutes if your going to go to heavan or not.Anyway, they are the majority.I could care less either way, it doesn't affect me as I do not use drugs of any sort but it seems to be something that could be taxed, everything else is. Why not pot?

I'm no fan of legal or illegal drug use (meaning I wouldn't be upset if alcohol disappeared from the face of the planet) but I occasionally indulge in a beer and even more rarely some of the harder stuff - and, frankly, I did more than "inhale" in my youth. That being said, the laws that we currently have are way out of whack. I think that we (or at least most of us) could agree that the prohibition of alcohol was a failure. I also think that many of us could agree that the criminalization of marijuana has also been a colossal failure as well. In some cases, there are people serving longer sentences for possession than murder. I think you've got a legitimate point, James. Let's decriminalize marijuana.
