'Meals' to celebrate 40th

On Nov. 17, Butler Meals on Wheels will be celebrating 40 years of serving the Butler area.
Each weekday up to 150 meals are delivered to the homebound of our community.
This is a true community effort. Each day 30 volunteers are needed to help prepare, package and deliver the meals.
We are not government funded. Clients pay a minimal fee, and the community donates the other portion needed to run the program. These donations come from individuals, companies, churches and civic clubs. Every dollar donated is used here in Butler to keep this vital service intact.
This is quite an amazing effort by the citizens of Butler. We should be proud to be part of a community that takes care of its own, year after year.
I would like to express appreciation to everyone who has helped to keep this program rolling.
