Injured woman mystery solved
ADAMS TWP — Police uncovered what happened Wednesday night when they found a 26-year-old woman bleeding on the side of Three Degree Road.
Township Police Chief Bill Westerman said the incident began when a cap fell off a truck around 11 p.m. on Three Degree Road. According to published reports attributed to police, the accident occurred when the woman, who got out of the truck to see what had happened, was struck on the head by a part of the vehicle while the driver was backing up.
The woman, still unidentified by police, was bleeding profusely. She started to have a seizure once the two men tried to move her into the truck to take her to a friend's house.
When their truck got stuck on a rock and couldn't be moved, the men got the woman out of the truck
and placed her on the side of the road. That's when a bystander called police and the confusion started because, initially, the woman was unwilling to tell police what had happened.Police previously said Joshua Black, 29, of Mars and Charles Cotto, 32, of Valencia were found at the scene. Police said they thought Black was driving the truck during the accident. The driver of the truck eventually confessed to police after the woman was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. The woman told police she withheld details of the accident because she didn't want the two men to get in trouble.
