WASHINGTON TWP — State police were investigating the cause of a fatal, one-vehicle crash on Branchton Road on Saturday morning.
According to troopers on the scene, the driver was the only person in the car, which was on its roof among trees off the west bound lane of Branchton Road at its intersection with Stewart Road.
The North Washington Volunteer Fire Company, Petrolia Ambulance and Butler County Coroner William Young III assisted state police at the scene of the 7:30 a.m. emergency call.
Branchton Road remained closed in both directions for a 300-yard stretch beyond Stewart Road while emergency crews worked.
