On September 15th, 2012, the three Masonic lodges of Butler will open their doors to the general public for one afternoon. From 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., visitors are encouraged to stop by and take a guided tour of the Butler Masonic Temple at 346 S. Main St. Guides will be on hand to answer questions and refreshments will be served.
This Beaux-Arts building was built in 1910 for Butler Lodge #272, Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania. It also houses Victory Lodge #694 and William H. Miller Lodge #769.
Along with members of all three lodges, representatives of other Masonic-affiliated organizations will be on hand to explain their programs and activities. Rainbow Girls and Job’s Daughters for young ladies, DeMolay for young men, and Eastern Star for women are just a few.
