Ohio woman wasn't an FBI agent

An Ohio woman is suspected of falsely claiming she was an FBI agent stemming from a suspicious person call last week at a northern Butler County truck stop, authorities said.

State police were called about 8 p.m. Sept. 3 to the Pilot Travel Center in Muddy Creek Township for a report of someone there purporting to be a federal agent.

Troopers found the 40-year-old suspect from Youngstown, who they allege had pushed one person and tried to get into at least two vehicles, according to a police report.

She also was telling the victims that she was a federal agent.

The woman even told an investigating trooper that she was “working for the FBI,” the report said. Her story, however, turned out to be a tall tale.

Police said they contacted the FBI, and found she did not work for the agency.

She was arrested for impersonating a public servant and a subsequent search of her purse, the report said, turned up a small amount of suspected marijuana.

The Butler Eagle is not identifying the woman because she has not been charged as of this morning. The woman could not be reached for comment and the investigating trooper was not immediately available.
