I was overwhelmed, but not surprised, by the outpouring of support Meals on Wheels received from the Butler community earlier this month. When a water pipe burst and flooded our storage room and office, we immediately began receiving calls and messages asking what was needed. It is a wonderful reminder of the good there is in the world and in our community.
I would particularly like to thank Travis Frenchak and The Hoagie Shop for the donation of food on a day that our homebound clients would have otherwise received none; Ron and Linda Vodenichar for their monetary donation and fundraising efforts; the Butler Eagle for their monetary donation and coverage of this incident to spread the word throughout Butler, and everyone who donated in any way.
As an organization that relies solely on donations and volunteers, we are grateful to everyone who allows us to continue our mission of providing meals and personal outreach to the homebound of Butler. For those who may be interested in helping in any way moving forward, please call 724-285-3815 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
