Mars 2nd graders plan food drive
ADAMS TWP — Second and third graders in Sarah Sondej and Jessica Semler's classes, respectively, at Mars Elementary School will hold a schoolwide food drive April 29 to May 3.

The food drive is being offered as part of the students' social studies lesson on the importance of volunteers and volunteering. Throughout the student-driven project, the second-graders will give speeches about the drive, create posters, collect nonperishable food donations, and graph the results.
Donations may be dropped off at the school's main office, Monday through Friday, during school hours. On May 3 parent volunteers will transport all collected food items to The Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township.
